Key Duties

  • Designate staff job roles for service and brief on tasks where necessary
  • Organize, encourage and motivate the whole team on a daily basis
  • Have a positive attitude at all times in order to boost and maintain team morale
  • Manage the set up and clear down of all restaurant areas on a daily basis
  • Ensure daily open and close checklists are compiled and completed for all restaurant areas
  • Ensure service standards are met at all times by all members of the restaurant team.
  • Develop and train new members of the floor team and complete skills checklists with them
  • Identify and carry out training needs with existing staff members
  • Co-ordinate with other management staff in regards to other house operations
  • Lead development of new food and drinks menus and deliver these to team
  • Assist with printing of menus and menu development
  • Ensure restaurant and kitchen still area cleaning schedules are completed on a daily basis.
  • Complete daily cash up procedures and ensure accounts team have all relevant information
  • Develop till systems for ease of use and liaise with till company
  • Complete bedroom check in and check out procedures on daily basis
  • Develop and train team on new drink menus and products
  • Complete open and lock up procedures where necessary
  • Encourage and motivate the team on a daily basis
  • Help and assist in other areas of the business where needed
  • Develop booking systems to maximize revenue and enhance customer experience
  • Manage booking system and communicate with bookings team on best practices


Communication

  • Motivate and encourage the floor team on a daily basis
  • Communicate with head chef and sous chefs on a daily basis to ensure smooth running of each service.
  • Attend monthly catch up meets to discuss improvements and developments of the business
  • Contribute and implement ideas for the staff notice board and staff areas
  • Communication with Front of House Manager on a daily basis

Management

  • Set daily and weekly targets for the restaurant team to achieve
  • Assist with budget setting for the restaurant areas
  • Assist with rotas and team communication.
  • Contribute ideas to the restaurant set up and product development
  • Attend monthly management meetings and contribute ideas
  • Contribute ideas and carry out objectives to improve productivity and increase revenue in restaurant areas.

Health & Safety

  • Comply with the Health and Safety procedures of the business and inform the General Manager of any improvements required
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in all dining areas
  • Ensure staff uniform standards are met on a daily basis

Personal Development

  • To participate in training, to increase knowledge and develop new skills relevant to the role
  • To attend regular reviews in order to discuss the position and assist in personal development
  • Complete work experience and training in other areas of the operation to gain further understanding of the business
  • Attend and carry out training relating to front of house procedures
