The Role: Maintenance & Cleaning Specialist (Full Time)

This is a full-time role for someone who likes fixing, cleaning, organising, and staying two steps ahead. As our Maintenance & Cleaning Specialist, you'll be a key player in keeping both our brand-new spa and wider site looking sharp and running smoothly.

Roughly half your time will focus on the spa, covering thermal equipment checks, scheduled cleaning, and specialist plant room work. The other half will see you hands-on across the hotel, from guest accommodation and communal spaces to reactive repairs and facilities support.

This role suits someone who's proud to take ownership of their patch, who likes ticking off jobs with purpose, and who gets satisfaction from leaving things better than they found them.

This is a full-time role with core hours scheduled across 4-5 days. While most work is planned midweek, some weekend and evening availability may be required to support the spa and hotel's operational needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Spa & Thermal Areas (approx. 15–20 hours/week):

  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance in thermal and spa areas (steam rooms, saunas, plunge pools).
  • Deep cleaning and maintaining spa plant equipment and facilities.
  • Monitoring and managing the plant rooms (training & qualification provided).
  • Supporting the spa team with facility readiness and safety.

Wider Site Maintenance (approx. 15–20 hours/week):

  • Handling repairs and preventative maintenance in guest rooms, corridors, and communal spaces.
  • Assisting with basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery tasks.
  • Maintaining storage and plant areas, making sure they are clean, safe, and well-stocked.
  • Responding to call-outs for reactive repairs or quick fixes.Supporting external contractors when needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A multi-skilled, hands-on problem solver with cleaning and maintenance experience.
  • Someone who takes pride in clean, safe, well-presented spaces.
  • Comfortable working solo - this role is about 80% independent.
  • Organised and reliable - you enjoy routine and get stuck into tasks.
  • Happy to train in new areas - STA Plant Room qualification will be provided.
  • Previous experience in hospitality maintenance, spa facilities, or hotel operations is a plus.
  • Having your own tools is desirable but not essential - we’ll ensure you’ve got what you need.
  • Someone who’s willing to respond to rare emergency call-outs when needed
